Description

Continuing "what went wrong" series :'D This has been on my stash for some time though.

So yeah. I really love those early 1900s dobies, they are lighter built and elegant. Nowadays Dobermanns are usually way too heavily built like in this pic. And that one isn't the worst... Anyways, I do have seen some pics in which the Dobermann have been actually really nice. It's a shame that it's kinda rare. I don't get it why do we have to breed too heavy chests and too angled hocks (among other things). Oh yeah, I know. Dog shows.

I don't actually like cropped ears/tails but since I watched a lot of reference pics, I decided to make cropped ones to get that look what they've looked like. Natural tails and ears have become more preferred just some of years ago.

Structurally, it's a huge improvement. The first dog you depict is straight in the rear and straight in the front with very little angulation. That angulation prevents injuries like CCL tears. The first dogs joints are going to wear down a lot quicker than the second. Though, the second still isn't to standard and appears bulkier than it should be. The jowls are definitely too loose and there's too much stop.
